seems hard to realize that that is so, but so it is. If your

theology does not make you more loving, it has not

Christianized you and to that extent is not a Christian

theology... All ecclesiasticism and all doctrinalizing are in

order to form character, and the soul of character is love.

Character determines revelation

My vision of God depends on the state of my character. Character determines revelation. Before I can say “I saw also the Lord,” there must be something corresponding to God in my character. Until I am born again and begin to see the Kingdom of God, I see along the lines of my prejudices only; I need the surgical operation of external events and an internal purification.
